DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT

The South Parklands Rehabilitation Project involved realigning and reshaping the existing watercourse to allow superior water flow and to alleviate flooding which had been an issue within the South Parklands.

KEY CONSTRUCTION PROCESSES

  • Set up construction area including developing and implementing environmental management, pedestrian and traffic management plans
  • Carefully studying upcoming weather conditions and identifying potential water flows
  • Managing and diverting water flow to allow for works within the watercourse
  • Implementing erosion and sediment protection measures
  • Excavation within a live watercourse
  • Installation of box culverts and pedestrian bridges within the watercourse
  • Manage and implement detailed landscaping package of works
  • On-site and off-site disposal of contaminated excavated material
