T & J Constructions have been engaged by Renewal SA to complete a Land Division project in Findon within the Council of City of Charles Sturt. The project consists of bulk cut to fill, construction of road pavements, large scale stormwater infrastructure, deep sewer system, potable water, electrical, NBN and footpaths works.
KEY CONSTRUCTION PROCESSES
Working in a suburban locality with residents and other road users T & J Constructions had to be well organised with the works to ensure that the local residents where not adversely effected for long periods.
One of the main challenges were when T & J Constructions were excavating and installing the 1.35 metre diameter concrete stormwater pipe. As T & J commenced excavating and installing shoring boxes for this deep excavation, portions of the road commenced collapsing. T & J immediately safe guarded a more extensive area and worked closely with the designer and client to best tackle the situation. T & J Constructions immediately mobilised a second team to ensure the original program was met and that no major delays were caused to local residents within the area.
