T & J Constructions completed the Fullarton Road and Greenhill Road DPTI intersection upgrade required for the Glenside subdivision by a repeat client, Cedar Woods Properties Limited.
This project consists of upgrading traffic signalling and traffic lights, widening of Fullarton Road and removing ‘turn left with care’ lane; and involves demolition, excavation, concrete works, deep lift asphalt, lighting and traffic signal upgrade for a busy DPTI road.
The works were staged to ensure disruption to the busy intersection is minimised. Majority of the works occurred at night to ensure trafficable flow through the intersection during peak periods.
KEY CONSTRUCTION PROCESSES
Working at night reduces the risk of not completing certain portions of work and enabling the road to open during peak hours. Night works will generally also decrease the risk associated with pedestrian safety. T&J Constructions placed an emphasis on the following items:
- Safety of pedestrians and other road users
- Ensuring stake holders within the area do not become irate and clear line of communication is planned and delivered
- Ensure the smooth flow of works and avoid any delays, maintaining program
- Carry out adequate underground service detections to ensure no service is disrupted
